ELECTRANET EDUCATION ENSEMBLES

ElectraNet has been supporting the ASO's education ensembles since 2005. Their support allows us to visit classrooms with small groups of musicians and offer an up-close and hands on experience with live music.

STRING QUARTET

The ASO’s string quartet will visit schools throughout 2010 performing the orchestral arrangement of the book, Miss Lily’s Fabulous Pink Feather Boa by Margaret Wild, with a narrator. Children will experience the ASO musicians up close in the classroom setting and learn about the string instruments used in a symphony orchestra and have the chance to have a go on a string instrument.

Suitable for Pre-school and Jnr Primary.

BRASS ZOO

Ever wondered which instrument is the lowest sounding member of the brass family? Is it the tuba or the trombone that doesn’t have valves? Which brass instrument contains twenty-six feet of tubing? A collection of ASO brass musicians present a concert of
fan fares, battles and familiar tunes to school groups where the kids have the opportunity to pick up an instrument and have a go.

Suitable for Middle and Upper Primary

TOE TAPPING TODDLERS

Join the ASO's String Trio and special guest presenter Trish Storer for a highly interactive and creative musical workshop that explores music, storytelling and movement for under 5's. Get involved with your toddler and have fun with classical music.

Suitable for children aged 2 - 5 years.
