The Grainger Studio was originally the West's Cinema, built in 1939. The building has been returned to its former glory retaining many of its art deco features, in particular the grand staircase that leads up to a mezzanine level in the entrance foyer. The studio has a room size of 33m x 18m, with a ceiling height of 10m. Today it is home to the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.
The Grainger Studio is located in the heart of the city's West End Arts precinct, within walking distance from the Adelaide Convention Centre, the Adelaide Railway Station, Adelaide Casino and many five star hotels. The space is suitable for exhibitions, conferences, live music, and grand dinner events. It is designed to be flexible and adaptable to meet all your needs, with in house staging, lighting, sound and easy vehicle access. You have the choice of hiring the room space only and use your own suppliers of services, or alternatively, we can organise the whole function for you!
