Enjoy a summer’s evening of family entertainment with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra in the stunning surrounds of the Mount Lofty Botanic Garden.
The concert will include a special children’s section featuring Juanita the Spanish Lobster, a delightfully entertaining story of a lady lobster who longs to go to the land. Presented by tenor Adam Goodburn, it will have children enthralled by the magical sounds of the orchestra.
Melbourne conductor, Brett Kelly returns to lead the orchestra in nautical masterworks including Khachaturian’s Spartacus Adagio, Storm from Benjamin Britten’s Sea Interludes and Arthur Sullivan’s Overture from Pirates of Penzance.
“It’s always a great pleasure to conduct the wonderful musicians of the ASO, but when they combine with great repertoire and engaging soloists in the glowing twilight of Mt Lofty, I think we’re in for a superb orchestral experience, both magical and fun,” said Kelly.
Presented by Channel Seven’s Jane Doyle, the concert will feature Scottish-born James Crabb on classical accordion. Praised internationally for his breathtaking virtuosity and versatile musicianship, he has performed worldwide with orchestras and ensembles including the BBC Symphony, BBC Scottish, London Philharmonic, London Symphony, Hallé Orchestra and Rotterdam Philharmonic.
