ETSA Utilities Learning Program 2012
Learning, discovering, experiencing and being Inspired is what our 2012 ETSA Utilities Learning program is all about. We are very pleased to put together a program for music lovers of all ages – those for who this will serve as a wonderful introduction, and those who are just looking to learn more.
We’re very excited to be able to offer a wide range of Learning experiences including an exciting new touring ensemble Edward and Edwina the Emus which will bring a group of wind, string and percussion players to schools and community centres – and to the Adelaide Zoo!
In 2012 we're proud to present Soundscapes, a concert performance inspired by the natural world and our environment. A special feature will be a perfomance of Peter Scuthorpe's Mangroves which, with croaking frogs and squaking birds, will have young minds immersed in a rich tropical world.
Our ever popular Miss Lily string quartet will again be on tour, and we will be holding a composition workshop based around the work of world-famous composer Tan Dun (in collaboration with OzAsia).
As well as our Toe Tapping Toddlers series, there’s a Big Rehearsal and a new series called Make your Own Music in which young people will have the chance to come to Grainger Studio, see where the Orchestra rehearses, make some instruments – and some music.
We’re very grateful to ETSA Utilities for making this program possible and to ElectraNet for being the force behind the Touring Ensembles. And we’ll look forward to seeing you at a Learning event in 2012!
