Santos Symphony Under the Stars Elder Park Admission FREE
A beautiful summer evening, a big symphony orchestra and a program of popular classical music. That’s what Santos Symphony Under the Stars means to Adelaide audiences. Each year 25,000 spectators gather in Elder Park for this FREE event which has become a tradition for South Australians as much as the pyrotechnic thrills of Tchaikovsky’s immortal 1812 Overture. This year join dynamic New Zealand conductor Marc Taddei, internationally renowned South Australian pianist Leigh Harrold and the wonderful Adelaide Symphony Orchestra for an evening you won’t forget.
Proudly supported by Santos.

Mozart Violin Concerto No. 4 Beethoven Violin Concerto
What more spectacular way to begin a musical adventure than with Nigel Kennedy, long a unique phenomenon in the musical world. Kennedy’s range extends from the Elgar Concerto to works inspired by Jimi Hendrix and The Who and his stage presence can be outrageous. But, as those who experienced his sold out performance in 2006 can vouch, it is his sheer mastery, fusing peerless virtuosity with magical insights, which remains in the memory. Here’s your chance to savour two aspects of his prodigious art in charming Mozart and Beethoven concertos, pinnacles of the violin repertoire.
