In Season 2009, the award-winning Adelaide Symphony Orchestra presents a world class concert program of some of the biggest names the world of music has to offer.

The popular Showcase Series delivers a mixture of international music legends in Roberta Flack, combined with youthful Australian artists such as Lior and Ben Lee. The ASO also celebrates the romance of Vienna.

The season of course features some of the biggest stars of classical music. Violin virtuoso Pinchas Zukerman performs exclusively with the ASO. Australian conductor Simone Young makes her ASO debut while Marc-André Hamelin will dazzle with his keyboard brilliance.

Chief Conductor Arvo Volmer is at the helm of our flagship Master Series which in 2009 features a new generation of rising stars of classical music including performances with Cedric Tiberghien, Feng Ning, Freddy Kempf and Gautier Capuçon.

In 2009 ASO’s music making continues to reach all sectors of the community as the orchestra celebrates its partnership with Principal Sponsor Santos, now in its tenth year. In December we venture into the great outdoors again for Symphony in the Serengeti.

From the great classics to world class virtuosos and some of the most popular names in music the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra is making music that has world impact.
