Music Education Appeal

Music education is a vital component to the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, but requires a large amount of resources to make it happen.

This year, we invite you to choose a gift from our Education Catalogue to donate, to play your part and help us bring music to more people across South Australia in 2019.

Participation is a key element of our learning activities. It's important that children have the chance to get up close to the instruments, including a pair of maracas ($30)percussion mallets ($169), or a xylophone ($449).

On Stage
There are an enormous amount of resources and equipment hiding on stage with the orchestra, such as sconce lights ($19) and music stands ($99), supporting the music making and allowing our musicians to take the spotlight.

ASO on the Road
The ASO tours regionally each year, reaching more people with our music at centres across South Australia and beyond. To take our orchestra on the road is a huge logistical feat, requiring special equipment like a travel case for the harp ($1200).

Player Health
Being a professional musician is physically demanding, with occupational specific hazards. With massage subsidies ($20) and hearing tests ($53), we aim to keep our players in top physical condition and avoid injuries across their long careers. And acoustic shields ($390) to protect our players from our own brass section!

We work closely with teachers and schools through our learning program, with resources and teacher training workshops ($1000) that support them in bringing music into the classroom.

The catalogue contains the above items - and more! When you select an item you are making a donation to its value, and all donations will directly support the ASO's learning and community activities.

Thank you for your support.
