Ahead of the Season 2019 launch, we chat with some of our Subscribers to find out just why they keep coming back. To kick off the series, meet Susan Lonie!

ASO: What do you do?

Susan: I work in Health, spend time with community groups, and keep bees for a hobby. Importantly, I watch and listen to the ASO.

At what point did you decide to become an ASO Subscriber and why?

I became a subscriber in 2012 as I discovered how much I love listening to and watching the ASO.... how exciting, thrilling and surprising it can be, yet calming. Subscribing is a one off process - very helpful if you can be busy and forgetful!

For how many years have you been subscribing? How many ASO concerts do you generally attend in a year?

I’ve subscribed for 6 years now, attending more than 25 concerts or operas with the ASO in a year.

What is it that keeps you coming back to the ASO?

The fabulous surprise I still find listening to the ASO; the variety of music and concert location and types; the professionalism and kind, welcoming nature of all involved with the ASO; the ease of access and they’re South Australian!

What do you love most about the ASO?

The exciting diversity of music and performances offered.

What would you say to someone who is considering subscribing?

Keep it easy, subscribe. You’ll never then forget to buy a ticket for an upcoming concert.

Do you have any other story or fact you would like to share...

Through the ASO I have made really great friends with such a diverse range of inspiring, wonderful people, both from the ASO and their audience. And the ASO has the most beautiful studio in historic Hindley Street.
