Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear for the Dress Rehearsal and Concert?

Please dress in something you are comfortable in! We would love for you to wear something bright and colourful for the concert.  As both the Dress Rehearsal and Concert are outdoor events, please check the weather forecast and bring outdoor appropriate coverings.

Is there a Backstage Area?

The Citizens’ Orchestra backstage area is a shared space. Please bring essentials only and leave valuables at home. All phones must be kept switched off during the rehearsal and performance. There is no available floor space to store bags/cases on stage.

Is there food and drink available?

There will be a short break during the Dress Rehearsal so please bring with you a small snack. We also encourage you to bring your own water bottle. Artist Pass holders will received a 15% discount from food stalls available on site from 2pm on Sat 16 Mar.

How do I access the Dress Rehearsal and Concert Site?

When you arrive, you will need to Check In at Gate 8 on Victoria Drive.

You will receive an artist pass at your Sectional Rehearsal. This pass is the only way you will be able to gain access through the gate for the Dress Rehearsal & Concert. If you cannot attend a Sectional Rehearsal, please contact us at citizens-orchestra@aso.com.au and we can arrange for an artist pass to be colleced at the gate.

Where should I park?

Parking is limited! There is no parking available on site, and limited parking on Victoria Drive. We suggest parking at at Wilson Car Park at Lot Fourteen or for public transport options we recommend using Adelaide Metro’s Journey Planner.

Should I bring a music stand?

If you would like to use one, please bring your own music stand or pegs for use during the concert.

I’m the parent of a child who is part of the Citizens’ Orchestra, what processes are in place?

All ASO staff on-site have a current WWCC.

Participants 13 and under will need to be accompanied by a guardian at all times. Participants 16 and under must be signed in by a guardian. Please note that due to the number of participants involved, ASO staff cannot always be responsible for supervision.

We ask that you carefully consider your child’s involvement, and welcome parents to observe or join in the workshops.

I still have questions, who do I contact?

For any further inquiries or questions, please reach out to us via email at citizens-orchestra@aso.com.au
