Come & Play

Christopher Dragon - Conductor

"There is nothing like it to get the adrenalin pumping and no experience to rival sitting in the midst of the tremendous sounds. It opens one’s eyes to the demands that ASO professionals face every day. Like top athletes they are required to deliver at the highest level at every event. How do they do it?"
2017 Participant

Come & Play is an invitation to members of the musical community who would love to spend an afternoon playing in the ASO next to a professional mentor from the orchestra. This is your chance to experience life in the day of a symphony orchestra musician.

In 2018, repertoire for Come & Play will be Faure’s Pavane, selections from Bizet’s L’Arlésienne Suite and the Can-Can from Off enbach’s Overture to Orpheus in the Underworld. The experience culminates in an open rehearsal for you to invite family and friends along to hear the result of the afternoon’s work.
