PRESENTED BY ADELAIDE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA IN ASSOCIATION WITH ADELAIDE FESTIVAL
Join us as New York comes alive in this musical extravaganza, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the birth of the American icon–Leonard Bernstein. A stellar cast ignites his iconic hits with West Side Story’s star-crossed lovers, On the Town’s fun-loving sailors, and Wonderful Town’s bright-eyed New Yorkers. “Tonight,” “Maria,” “Glitter and Be Gay,” “New York, New York” – hear your favourite hits and experience the exuberance, joy, and brilliance of one of the 20th century's greatest composers.
Bernstein didn’t do anything half-heartedly, and neither are we. Leading this centenary celebration is John Mauceri, the master’s apprentice. Mauceri worked closely with Bernstein for 18 years, conducting many of the works on this program.
Hear from ASO Director of Artistic Planning, Simon Lord on participating in the Bernstein at 100 celebrations and much more about Bernstein on the ASO Blog.
