Jam Sessions – Eastwood Community Centre

Ever wanted to make music but didn’t know where to start? ASO Jam Sessions are free workshops where creativity takes the lead. No experience? No problem.

Led by facilitators Julian Ferraretto and Dave McEvoy alongside ASO musicians, these sessions bring together community members of all skill levels to improvise and shape music in real time. Using a technique called conduction (think live musical choreography) facilitators use gestures and cues to guide the group, directing tempo, dynamics, and texture as you play. You respond, listen, and contribute, helping steer the music as it unfolds in the moment.

Across three sessions, you’ll build a shared musical journey, deepening your creative confidence and collaborating directly with professional musicians. Each session grows on the last, so the more you attend, the richer the experience. New participants are always welcome, whenever they join.

To close out the year, friends and family are invited along to the final session to witness the music you’ve been making, a relaxed, open-door moment to show the people in your life what you’ve been up to.
