Ticketing Policies

Valid Tickets and Authorised Ticket Agencies

Tickets sold or issued by the ASO are subject to the Live Performance Australia Ticketing Code of Practice (available here) and these Terms and Conditions of sale. Where tickets are sold through an authorised third party ticketing provider, additional Terms and Conditions of sale will also apply. Any person purchasing a ticket or attending an event agrees to abide by these Terms and Conditions of sale, as well as any applicable Conditions of Entry, which may vary according to venue and / or event.

ASO recommends patrons view the Live Performance Australia ‘Safe Tix Guide’ (available here) which provides information about safe ticket purchasing and the risks associated with purchasing tickets from unauthorised ticket resellers.

Currently authorised ticket agencies for ASO performances include, but are not limited to:

These agencies are authorised to sell ASO tickets at various venues in South Australia. For more information, or if you would like to confirm whether an agency is an authorised ASO ticket seller, please contact aso@aso.com.au

In accordance with South Australian Law, ASO tickets cannot be resold for more than 110% of the original supply cost. In addition, tickets may not be resold for use in advertising or promoting another entity, or for other commercial purposes (including trade promotions or competitions) without the prior written consent of the ASO. ASO reserves the right to cancel any ticket sold or offered for resale in breach of this condition, without notice and without a refund, and the ticketholder may be refused entry into the event.

Your agreement with ASO for the purchase of a ticket is governed by the laws of South Australia. Information on the relevant laws can be found online here. If you have any questions about these Terms and Conditions of Sale, please call ASO on 08 8233 6233.

Transaction Fees

Unless otherwise stated, all ASO ticket sales are subject to a transaction fee of $6.50 per transaction for all orders.

When ASO sells tickets via third party ticket agencies (such as TICKETEK and TICKETMASTER), these agencies have their own transaction fee rates which may vary according to ticket purchase channel. ASO advises patrons to check each agency’s ticketing Terms and Conditions of Sale prior to finalising purchases.

Concession Policies

Concessions must be Australian issued and valid at the time of booking and event attendance. Full or partial refunds are not available if you become eligible for a concession after you have booked. Proof of concession must be provided at the time of booking or ticket collection, and may be requested by venue staff upon entrance to the auditorium if being admitted on a concession ticket. Failure or refusal to provide valid proof of concession may result in non-admittance.

Where a patron no longer holds the concession used to purchase the ticket (or a non-concession holder attends in the place of the original concession holder), the concession ticket must be upgraded via a valid Box Office prior to the event, or at the venue Box Office on the night. In this instance patrons will pay only the difference from the concession rate to full rate.

Concessions are available in most reserves for means-tested Government issued concessions (such as a Centrelink pension). Full-time students of any age are also eligible for concession rates. Senior’s Card and Health Care Cards do not qualify for ASO concession pricing. Unless otherwise stated, child price concessions apply for children aged 2-14 years (inclusive) as of the date of the event when accompanied by an adult in an adjacent seat, and in most cases, infants under the age of two years do not require a ticket to gain entry to an ASO performance when seated on an accompanying adult’s lap. Some special family events may feature different child pricing conditions which will be detailed on the event page of the performance and available from our Box Office.

Family Tickets

A family ticket consists of four individual concert tickets for a family combination of 2 Adults and 2 Children, or 1 Adult and 3 Children. A family ticket must be purchased in one transaction to receive the family price.

School Tickets

School bookings are available for all ASO performances at reduced ticket rates for bookings of six or more students coordinated by a school (Homeschool reduced ticket rates available upon request). Reduced price tickets are provided to teachers or other adults acting in a supervisory capacity, within an agreed ratio. School bookings are required for to be paid in full no later than eight weeks prior to school-specific performances or two weeks prior to other ASO concerts. Schools will be given the opportunity to pay by Tax Invoice, noting that refunds or reduction of numbers cannot be made within eight weeks of school-specific performances or two weeks of other ASO concerts.

Group Bookings

Group tickets must be purchased in one transaction. Group sizes may vary by event – please check with the relevant ticketing agency about group options.

Companion Cards

ASO are proud participants of the Companion Card scheme, and will accept companion card bookings for all ASO events (including subscriptions). A valid Companion Card or copy thereof must be sighted at the time of booking or when collecting tickets.

Restricted View Seats

Some seats may have been deemed to have a restricted view.

These seats may have an impeded view of the stage by way of the conductor, musicians, parts of the building, by the angle of the screen or other impediment. Where a seat is known to have a restricted view, it will be marked / communicated as such during the ticket purchase, and marked on the issued ticket. By purchasing a restricted view seat you acknowledge that your view of the stage and / or performers may be impacted.

Instalment Payment Plans

Patrons who book for ASO events and elect to pay by credit or debit card may qualify for instalment payment options. Details on available instalment options vary, and can be found on the paper booking forms, or as part of the online checkout process. Please note that in all instances, final payment of the whole booking value must be made in full no later than two weeks prior to the first event in your booking. Please note tickets will not be issued until final payment has been received. All receipts, including donation receipts will be issued along with tickets after final full payment.

Gift Vouchers

Prepaid Gift Vouchers can be purchased and redeemed at the ASO Box Office in person or over the phone, and on the ASO Website. They are not redeemable for cash, no change will be given and they are valid for a three year period from the date of purchase. Vouchers can be used multiple times until the value has been exhausted, and can be used as part-payment for orders (subscriptions, single ticket orders, donations etc…). Voucher cards and their unique voucher should be treated like cash. The ASO disclaims any responsibility for lost or stolen cards.

ASO branded Gift Vouchers cannot be redeemed with third party ticketing agencies directly (such as TICKETEK or TICKETMASTER). If you would like to redeem a voucher against a performance sold by a third party ticketing agency, please contact the ASO Box Office in person or over the phone.

Exchanges, Refunds & Lost Tickets

Exchanges & Refunds

All ticket sales are final and non-refundable once the order has been finalised, except as required by law, or as outlined in the Live Performance Australia Ticketing Code of Practice (if an event is cancelled, rescheduled or significantly re-located). To obtain a copy of the Code of Practice, please contact the ASO Box Office or download it here.

All patrons may exchange their ticket value from one ASO event to another ASO event for any reason. Any exchange is based on the printed dollar value of the tickets being offered up for exchange. This may include exchanging one or more high value tickets into multiple lower value tickets, or vice versa. In the event the tickets the patron exchanges into are greater in value, the patron will be required to pay the difference to the ticket, plus any applicable exchange fee. In the event the new tickets are lesser in value, no balance will be credited, refunded or donated to the patron account (but may be used to pay off any applicable exchange fee).

Events that feature the ASO, but are not sold by the ASO, and any ASO event sold by a different ticketing provider (such as TICKETEK) as well as some co-production performances may be ineligible for exchanges. Exclusions can include partner events with other festivals or other arts organisations. For a current list of exchange exclusions, please contact the ASO.

Exchanges must be completed no later than three [3] business days prior to concert performance date. i.e. to exchange from a Saturday concert, the exchange must be completed by close of business on the Wednesday prior, and for a Wednesday concert, the exchange must be completed by close of business on the Friday prior.

Exchanges will not be permitted within three [3] business days of a concert except in compelling extenuating circumstances, e.g. hospitalisation of ticket holder or next-of-kin. In order to request an exchange due to compelling extenuating circumstances patrons should contact the ASO by email aso@aso.com.au or by phone 08 8233 6233.

Under no circumstances (including extenuating circumstances) will exchanges be allowed if notice of non-attendance was not given to the ASO prior to the concert start time. Notice can include an email or voice message on ASO systems, even if ASO did not respond prior to the concert.

An exchange fee equivalent to the current transaction fee will be payable once per exchange (regardless of the number of tickets being exchanged). Package holders (subscribers) are exempt from all exchange fees.

Patrons who can no longer attend and do not wish to, or qualify for an exchange may like to allow their ticket to be used by a member of the ASO Live Pass program at no cost (full-time secondary or tertiary students), or are advised to share their tickets with friends and family.

For further information regarding exchanges please contact the ASO Box Office by email aso@aso.com.au or by phone 08 8233 6233.

Lost tickets

Lost ticket vouchers or ticket reprints will be issued for lost tickets where the performances is sold as ‘allocated seating’ and ASO can locate the original ticket order, and complete customer verification. Where a performance is ticketed through a third party agency, they may reserve the right to charge a replacement fee for lost tickets at their discretion. Any such third party fees are out of the control of the ASO and must be paid by the ticket holder as requested in accordance with the third parties’ ticketing Terms and Conditions of Sale.

To notify ASO of lost tickets prior to an event, please contact the ASO Box Office by email aso@aso.com.au or by phone on 08 8233 6233 during business hours so that a replacement can be pre-printed for collection at the venue Box Office. Alternatively, patrons may present at the venue Box Office no later than 15 minutes prior to the start time to request a re-print. In both instances, please have proof of purchase ready, noting that replacement tickets or vouchers will only be provided to the original ticket purchaser, unless agreed in writing with the ASO prior.

Lost tickets may not be exchanged in any circumstances.

Shipping and Handling Policy

Any patron who wishes to have physically printed tickets collected at the box office, or sent to them via Standard Mail in advance will be required to pay a handling fee of $3.50. Patrons may elect to receive PDF e-tickets delivered by email approximately two to six days prior to the concert for no extra charge.

Orders will be dispatched from Adelaide, SA by Australia Post, unless you have chosen items that must be collected at the box office. Items that will not be mailed and must be collected include some ticket types (to verify discount validity), and tickets purchased for events within 10 business of the performance date. This will be indicated at time of purchase if applicable.

For ‘Standard Mail’ delivery, please allow up to 2 business days for dispatch and 3-10 business days for delivery. It is your responsibility to supply us with your correct shipping address.

Instalment Payment Conditions

All patrons purchasing via the ASO website can elect to pay by instalments for eligible performances or packages. Options offered will vary depending on the date the booking is placed, and may include 50/50 options, or fortnightly payments.

For patrons who book online, some items are ineligible for instalments (such as fees and donations) and will be due at the time of booking. Information will be presented at the time of booking online detailing this.

For patrons selecting instalments online, or fortnightly instalments through all other channels, you must provide a valid credit card at the time of booking that will be used to automatically deduct your instalment payment as per the agreed payment schedule.

Regardless of the instalment frequency or payment method, tickets will not be sent until all payments have been received by ASO (this can include any applicable cheque or EFT payment clearing).

Patrons who wish to receive tickets earlier than the nominated payment schedule end date may contact the ASO to bring forward any outstanding payments at the time of their choosing.

Conditions of Entry

General Conditions

Cameras, audio and video recorders may be banned from some venues. Check Conditions of Entry at the venue as a breach may, to the extent permitted by law, lead to deletion of recorded material, confiscation of equipment and recoding medium and / or your removal from the venue.

Food and beverages may not be consumed in the auditorium unless otherwise advised.

It is a condition of entry that a search of persons or possessions may be required at the time of entry to the venue.

The ASO reserves the right to refuse admission or evict a ticket holder in accordance with the venue’s Conditions of Entry or the Live Performance Australia Ticketing Code of Practice. Please note some ASO performances are broadcast live on radio or other medium, or recorded for later broadcast or release. In the event a performance is being recorded, we may ask any patrons (regardless of age or ticket status) to leave the performance if they make noise or exhibit behaviour that may impact a broadcast or recording, or that otherwise may impact the performers or other patrons. Patrons making noise or exhibiting behaviour that may impact the performers or other patrons may also be removed from the performance whether or not it is being broadcast or recorded.

Latecomers

Adequate time must be allowed for the collection of tickets on arrival at the venue. The ASO does not accept responsibility for any delays that may be encountered at the Box Office prior to an event. Venue Box Offices open 90 minutes prior to the advertised start time, and closes 15 minutes after the performance has commenced.

For the comfort and convenience of all patrons, latecomers can only be admitted into the auditorium at a suitable break in the performance and may be refused entry entirely. Suitable breaks vary between performances and may not occur until the interval. If a suitable break prior to interval is identified, latecomers may not be seated in their ticketed seats, but in an area adjacent to an entrance, where minimal disruption will be caused to seated attendees. Entrance for all latecomers is at the discretion of venue staff. Ticket refunds or exchanges are not available on the basis of late arrival. Please note that if you leave the auditorium for any reason during the performance, your re-admittance will be managed in the same manner as a latecomer as outlined above. This can include being refused re-entry.

Photography & Video

The ASO reserves the right to record, broadcast, telecast or webcast any event.

If you are photographed, filmed or taped whilst attending an ASO performance, you consent to ASO or third parties appointed by ASO photographing, filming and taping you. ASO or third parties appointed by ASO can broadcast, publish, license and use any photographs, film, recordings and images of you without notice or compensation. ASO, the third parties and anyone acquiring from them a right to use the material are not liable to you in any way for its use.

Wheelchair Seating

If you have purchased an accessible wheelchair seat directly from the Box Office (phone or counter) you will have been allocated a wheelchair bay in the venue, not a fixed seat. If you should arrive at the venue without the need of a wheelchair you will need to inform the Front of House Manager as soon as possible so that a standard seat can be added in. If you know in advance, we request you contact the ASO Box Office prior to the event during business hours so this change can be noted for venue setup.

If you have purchased an accessible wheelchair seat via the ASO website (marked with a special wheelchair icon), you must reply back to your email confirmation indicating the approximate size of the wheelchair, and if you intend on remaining in it for the duration of the event, or would like to transfer to a standard seat.
