Help us help those in need – ASO’s Christmas Giving Drive

In the lead up to Christmas, drop by and help us help those in need. This year the ASO is open as a collection point for three South Australian charities aiming to make a difference this Christmas! Make your contribution by Mon 16 Dec to Grainger Studio for Hutt Street CentreAnimal Welfare League, and Backpacks for SA Kids under our Christmas tree.

Find out more about each charity below, and click the Wish List buttons to see what donations they’re asking for.

Hutt Street Centre

“Hutt St Centre is a place of connection and support, where people facing homelessness are empowered to rebuild their lives, rediscover their identities and reconnect with those who love them.

When people walk through our doors we help fulfil their immediate needs, like a shower, a meal, and a charged phone, while our 20+ visiting services provide support ranging from medical check-ups to financial counselling.

With a focus on the future, we connect people with housing, education and employment opportunities to build the skills and confidence to change their circumstances for good.”

Animal Welfare League

“Since our humble beginnings in 1964, Animal Welfare League has grown into one of South Australia’s leading animal welfare organisations. In our mission to connect pets, people and community, we find loving homes for vulnerable animals in need, reunite lost animals with their families, and provide temporary shelter through our foster care program.

We offer education and pet advice to the community to encourage responsible pet ownership and our social enterprises provide much-needed support to South Australians looking for pet boarding facilities and pet cremation and memorial services, as well as those on the lookout for a bargain at our Op Shops.”

Backpacks 4 SA Kids

“Backpacks 4 SA Kids exists to provide resources that contribute to the care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people during periods of dislocation from home and routine care.”

Backpacks for SA Kids work in conjunction with child welfare, child protection, family violence and homelessness agencies. They provide as many displaced children as possible with an age-appropriate backpack containing a range of items.
