Adrian grew up in Malvern, Worcestershire in the UK. He read Biological Sciences at Oxford University and then won a scholarship for postgraduate French Horn study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Adrian built up a freelance career in London and around the UK, and has played as Guest Principal Horn with most UK orchestras. His playing has taken him around the world, including many tours with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra.
Since moving to Adelaide, in addition to the ASO commitments he has been invited to play Guest Principal with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. He regularly plays in chamber music ensembles and has performed Mozart’s 3rd and 4th concertos with the ASO.
In his spare time, Adrian is also a keen squash player and plays in the Premier Division team for the Next Generation squash club. He also enjoys exploring South Australia and is taking the opportunity to also pursue his interests in biology, wildlife and conservation.
