Her Majesty’s Theatre
Her Majesty’s Theatre, in the Adelaide Festival Centre, is one of the ASO’s primary performance venues. In its heyday Her Majesty’s Theatre was considered Australia’s finest theatre, and after an extensive restoration it has been returned to its world-class status and is as beautiful as ever.

Directions
Her Majesty’s Theatre is located at 58 Grote Street, Adelaide, which is on the north side of the street.
You can’t miss the beautiful, street-facing entrance, and although there is no designated drop off area, cars can stop to drop off passengers nearby on Grote Street.
Seating
Her Majesty’s Theatre is divided into three seating areas. Stalls, Dress Circle and Grand Circle.

Is there accessible car parking available?
There are many parking options around the Grote Street precinct, including:
Care Park – 15 Pitt St, Adelaide
UPark Adelaide Central Market, 60 Gouger St, Adelaide (entry also from Grote St)
Wilson Parking – 23 Franklin Street, Adelaide

Is there a designated drop off area?
There is no designated drop off area, however cars can stop to drop off passengers nearby on Grote Street.
Is the venue accessible by public transport?
Yes, many buses, including the free bus that loops through the city and North Adelaide, stop nearby as does the tram which stops in Victoria Square just 250m away.
Free City Connector bus
The free City Connector bus is a hop-on and hop-off service linking popular city attractions, shopping, dining and key destinations in the city and North Adelaide. Bus route 98A and 98C connect North Adelaide with the city, and 99A and 99C connect the inner-city areas not serviced by the tram. Services operate every 15 minutes on weekdays and every 30 minutes on weekends.

Staff are available in the foyer to assist with queries and customer service.

Is the venue a Companion Card affiliate?
Many presenters at Adelaide Festival Centre are Companion Card affiliates. Please check with the operator when making your booking. Concession cards must be produced on request.

Getting to your seat
Are the doors throughout the venue and into the theatre open and wheelchair accessible?
There are 8 doors to get into Her Majesty’s Theatre with each door’s number is displayed above. Doors 3 & 4 on Stalls level are wheelchair accessible.
Is there fixed seating?
Yes.
Is there accessible seating?
Removable seats are available in the Stalls row G as well as on the Dress Circle for patrons who wish to remain seated in their wheelchair or transfer to a theatre seat.
Is wheelchair hire available?
Please contact 131 246 or advise the operator when you are booking tickets if you require a loan wheelchair during your visit.
Wheelchairs can be collected at your venue concierge desk pre-show and must be returned within 20 minutes of the show finishing. Patrons will be required to leave a driver’s license, credit card, or government issued photo ID as a deposit until the wheelchair is returned. Wheelchairs must not be taken off site. Please coordinate patron pick-up and drop-off locations accordingly.
Unfortunately we cannot provide staff to assist with patron wheelchair use unless there is an emergency. Her Majesty’s Theatre participates in the Companion Card program for patrons who require support during their visit.

We do not have a dedicated quiet room.

Is there an Auslan interpreter available?
Some performances are interpreted and advertised as such, but we do not have an interpreter on site unless prearranged.
Does the venue offer Assistive Listening Systems?
At Her Majesty’s Theatre, hearing loop facilities are available in foyer areas. Also audience members who require hearing assistance are now able to enjoy the show via the Beyerdynamic Hearing System.
Vision
What is the lighting in the venue like?
Bright in foyer, dim in theatre.
Does the venue use strobe lights?
Subject to the performance, however warnings will be displayed in the foyer if in use.
Is braille available, and if so, where and what for?
Toilet and lift signage.
Is large print signage or print media offered?
Dependent on performance requirement.
Do performances offer captioning (e.g closed or open captioning)?
Some performances are captioned and this is advertised when available.

Accessing Water and Food
Is drinking water available and where? Is it free of cost?
Drinking water is available on Stalls, Dress Circle and Grand Circle levels – next to the elevators.
Is there food available for purchase?
The Foyer Bars are available on every level at Her Majesty’s Theatre. They open 45 minutes before each performance and offer a variety of drinks & snacks including beer, wine & potato chips.
Please note: a 12% surcharge applies on Public Holidays on all food & drinks. Her Majesty’s Theatre is a cashless venue.
