Maeve Hook

Maeve (she/her) is an actor, director, puppeteer and writer. She is a BFA Acting graduate (QUT) and has been studying puppetry with Lemony S Puppet Lab 2024. 

As an actor, Maeve most recently appeared as Terra in Starweaver (Madness of Two/State Theatre Company South Australia). Other highlights include starring in and puppetry directing the Australian premiere of Crocodile Fever (TART); and award winning short film ‘Ballad’ (Dir. Roe Bonnici). Maeve’s directing work has been seen nationally and internationally with POLES: The Science of Magnetic Attraction (Premiere, Australian Fringes tour and award-nominated Edinburgh Fringe season); ‘Ladies Write Letters of Lemony Love’; and Back Pocket’ (TART).  

As a playwright, Maeve was selected for ATYP’s National Studio and Theatre Works’ “She Writes” program. Her play “Simple” was one of four finalists for The Cooper Prize (16th St) 2024.
