About
Two concerts infused with light and inspired by song converge for a stunning weekend at Elder Hall as part of Adelaide Festival. Curated by Cathy Milliken, this kaleidoscopic celebration of music by women composers from Australia and beyond will captivate your imagination.
Featuring works by contemporary Australians Liza Lim, Olivia Davies and Elena Kats-Chernin juxtaposed with music by the late, great Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho. Plus, experience magical orchestral sounds created by the Russian composer Sofia Gubaidulina and Ngaanyatjarra composer, Vonda Last.
Please note, the patron lift will be completely unavailable for this performance. This means that all patrons will need to navigate seven steps outside the venue, as well as additional eight steps inside the foyer to access all seats.
Light–Song is generously supported by Mary Lou Simpson OAM.
