About
Make space in your week for extraordinary music.
A mid-week escape to Elder Hall offers something special. With just 600 seats, you’re close to the musicians and immersed in the hall’s warm, resonant sound. Enjoy the concert, then linger over lunch or take a wander through the city. A beautiful afternoon, with great music at its centre.
Promenade
A promenade through music that finds wonder in simplicity. Byström’s A Walk to Beethoven’s First Symphony is exactly that, meandering into Mozart’s Flute Concerto No. 2, a work that sparkles with sweet elegance, performed by ASO Principal Flautist Kim Falconer.
Storm and Solace
Kilar’s Orawa ignites this concert with driving rhythms and the raw energy of Polish highland folk music. Holst’s St Paul’s Suite with its folk-inspired dances and lyrical string writing prefaces a World Premiere by Adelaide composer Belinda Gehlert.
