- Elder Hall Location
Make space in your week for extraordinary music.
A mid-week escape to Elder Hall offers something special. With just over 600 seats, you’re close to the musicians and immersed in the hall’s warm, resonant sound. Enjoy the concert, then linger over lunch or take a wander through the city. A beautiful afternoon, with great music at its centre.
The still of the night is captured in Beethoven’s Moonlight piano sonata, here vividly reshaped for orchestra by Leopold Stokowski. Saint-Saëns’ exhilarating Cello Concerto No.1 showcases everything the cello has to offer; it sings, laments, and dances. Up-and-coming cellist and Adelaide-local James Morley is homeward bound for this performance. Kodály’s Dances of Galánta carries us away in the rush of a whispering wind, before the serpentine clarinet awakens the orchestra with an array of rhapsodic and exhilarating folk tunes.
