Beethoven’s Leonore Overture No.3 boldly follows, a richly textured piece that tells the story of a heroine’s daring rescue. Louise Farrenc’s Overture No.1 is a bright, finely crafted opener with elegant momentum. Together, these works deliver a dramatic and unforgettable program.
