About
Join us for a weekend of music curated by Chief Conductor, Mark Wigglesworth. Celebrating Vienna as the extraordinary birthplace of orchestral music as we know it, we hear Mozart’s first and last thoughts, Beethoven’s dramatic arrival onto the stage, and Schubert’s ‘Great’ C major Symphony, a work that sums up the Viennese classical tradition while simultaneously knocking on the door of the romanticism that took its place. Our concerts showcase some of the exceptional principal players of the ASO as well as an exciting new generation of musicians emerging from the Elder Conservatorium of Music.
Kate Suthers is generously supported by Colin Dunsford AM in memory of Lib Dunsford.
Joshua Oates is generously supported by Caryl Lambourn & Graham Norton.
Mark Gaydon is generously supported by Pamela Yule.
