About
Staccato notes provide a lively introduction to Weber’s grand overture Euryanthe, a work that comes from an opera about love, secrets, and poison in medieval France. Hear a pleasant chorale theme unravel through Brahms’ Variations on a Theme by Haydn. The melody is enriched through ever-evolving musical characters. Also, a rare opportunity to hear the bassoon as a mellow solo instrument in Hummel’s charismatic concerto.
Mark Gaydon is generously supported by Pamela Yule.
