About
Canadian virtuoso James Ehnes, a good friend of the ASO, returns to play Brahms’ Violin Concerto; a quest for beauty, which is revealed in the velvety second movement and celebrated in a jubilant Hungarian finale. Lotta Wennäkoski’s Hava follows, with swirling winds and lively percussion igniting a burst of spontaneous energy. The evening concludes with Elgar’s moving musical portraiture, where every note brings to life his friends and family.
Elena Schwarz is generously supported by the Miriam Hyde Circle.
