A tempestuous musical adventure
A concert that starts with a storm at sea and ends with the epic, floor-shaking sounds of the Adelaide Town Hall organ will be one to remember. The two cracking chords which open Berlioz’s Le corsaire signal a raging ocean tempest, before a panoply of strings and brass brings you safely back to shore. When organ meets orchestra in Saint-Saëns’ symphony the results are an awe-inspiring combination of beautiful tunes and thunderous spectacle. In between, you’ll be treated to the world premiere of a major new concerto by one of Australia’s favourite composers.
