Hold your head high when you listen to the proud opening notes of Beethoven’s Egmont Overture. Simple but stirring, this heroic piece underpins a great battle for freedom inspired by poetry. Then Beethoven’s uplifting concerto will highlight the precision of our radiant soloist, whose glorious melodies spark a cheerful dialogue with the orchestra. We’ll leave you in an aura of magic thanks to Sibelius’ otherworldly Lemminkäinen Suite. His fantastical and folkish music invites you to dream of sacred swans, dodge poison arrows, and journey to a mythical island.
