Music takes flight.
If you can imagine serenity in sound, you’ll be prepared for the sublime beauty of The Lark Ascending. Saint-Saëns’ smouldering Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso is like a taste of sangria. Picture-painting has never been given musical voice more colourfully than in the orchestral showpiece Pictures at an Exhibition. It was another display— of Ediacaran fossils at the South Australian Museum—which inspired the ASO’s Composer in Association Cathy Milliken to create her new work for the ASO.
Classical Conversations
Join us at the Meeting Hall (located just behind Adelaide Town Hall) one hour before the concert for Classical Conversations and hear from Associate Professor Diego García-Bellido, Composer Cathy Milliken, & Mary Lou Simpson.
