Voyage through imaginary landscapes
Enter a world of luminous colours and evocative textures in Prokofiev’s dreamy concerto. This is a work of exceptional lyrical beauty, with solo violin soaring over the gentlest halo of orchestral sound. Sibelius evokes something timeless and epic in his First Symphony, from the desolate opening to the spectacular vista painted by the full orchestra at the climax. Young British composer Grace-Evangeline Mason invites you to journey into the forest of your imagination in her immersive new work.
Our free pre-concert talk will be held in the Stalls of the Adelaide Town Hall on Level 1. Please join us one hour prior to the concert to hear conductor Luke Dollman in conversation with ASO Horn Emma Gregan about the music you’ll hear in Dreams.
