REMASTERED: an interview with DJ Nelya

Nelya Valamanesh is a local DJ with a closer-than-average connection to orchestral music and the ASO. After discovering a love for the orchestra two years ago through our Live Pass student membership, this emerging young DJ brings her own unique sound to the next ReMastered post-concert event with a DJ set showcasing her breadth of musical interest.

REMASTERED: an interview with David Blumberg

David Blumberg is an Adelaide based multi-instrumentalist and composer whose most recent album, the song cycle Gertrude was toured extensively around Australia in 2017 culminating in a performance at MONA in November. David and his quartet will perform re-imaginings from Gertrude, as well as new originals for vocals, bass clarinet, guitar, bass and drums at the REMASTERED afterparty on Fri 20 Apr.

"It's really refreshing to meet young people who are excited about our music and what we do at the ASO; we're not often a strongly present demographic at symphonic concerts so I feel like there's a really noticeable change in energy in the audience at ReMastered concerts, which somehow feels really tangible and exciting as a performer!"
